The Greater Houston area has been drastically affected by public health emergencies and disasters.  From hurricanes to the Covid-19 pandemic, our community needs to be better prepared for these emergencies.  

 

Outreach Strategists is teaming with the Houston Health Department to create a network of residents educated, trained, and prepared to respond to future public health emergencies and disasters.

Who we are?

Outreach Strategists is a Houston based Research, Media, and Public Affairs firm.  We have spent years collaborating with public health agencies, residents, and leaders in our community.  We educate, engage, and raise awareness around public health services and resources to create change in Health Equity and Access across the Greater Houston Area.
 
Outreach Strategists is teaming with the Houston Health Department for the Health Equity and Access Project.  The goal of the project is to educate and train community residents and groups to be prepared to respond to public health emergencies and disasters.

Outreach Strategists is seeking trusted community members to become Trusted Health Ambassadors who will be a part of a first of its kind response network. 


The Trusted Health Ambassadorship is a trained position to engage with the greater community to bring vital information surrounding public health preparedness. Connect with the Trusted Health Ambassador project and become a vital resource your community can turn to public health fact-based information.

Outreach Strategists is seeking Community Health Advocates.  This is a paid position for active community members who are ready to assist in building a first of its kind response network.

Join in the grassroots movement towards becoming a Houston Health Department Community Healthcare Advocate. Be the focused resource person in the community bringing fact-based public health information, public health resources, and program opportunities to your local neighborhoods

The Houston Health Department seeks to connect with trusted community members to develop a first of its kind response network. The Leadership Development Program provides training, and resources to aspiring and existing community leaders.  The program equips leaders with the knowledge and tools to identify and address public health issues most important in their neighborhoods, and communities.  The Houston Health Department (HHD) strives to boost the power of local leaders to improve equity and access to health services and resources in communities.

The Covid-19 pandemic drastically affected our communities.  Health inequities and disparities are front and center now. Understanding our most vulnerable populations is critical to effectively provide services and resources to these populations.  To do this, communities need individuals who can translate a community’s views, concerns, needs and aspirations in a meaningful and impactful way to achieve positive outcomes.
